Bobby Wayne Burris, age 65, resident of Kerrville, Texas passed away in the early morning hours of Friday, July 11, 2025 surrounded by his family. Bobby was born on October 1, 1959 to Bobby Alton Burris and Augusta ‘Tita’ Burris in Kingsville, Texas.
Bobby Wayne is preceded in death by his loving parents, Bobby and Augusta Burris. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Elizabeth Truitt Burris of Kerrville, Texas, daughter Ashley Marie McKinney and wife Tiffany McKinney of Mansfield, Texas, daughter Julia Nicole Baehre and husband Conor Baehre of Kerrville, Texas, and his granddaughters, Katelyn Marie, Kennedy Paige, and Karsyn Elaine.
Bobby, who many knew as B.W. growing up, graduated from H. M. King High School Class of 1978. Bobby attended Texas A&I-Kingsville where he studied Business and was a member of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity.
Bobby spent many of his younger years on Lake Mathis, enjoying performance boats and water skiing. Known as a friend to all and life of the party, Bobby lit up every place he went with his big smile, loud character, and boundless energy. His presence brought people together.
Bobby moved to McAllen, Texas, where for over 15 years worked at Deborah’s Interiors, for Jim and Deborah Roerig who became long time friends and mentors to him. Bobby later married Elizabeth, of Kingsville, on November 14, 1992, settled into their family home in McAllen, and raised their daughters. Bobby finished his working career as an Account Executive at Time Warner Cable for 13 years. Once empty-nesters, Bobby and Elizabeth moved to Kerrville in 2014 to retire and enjoy the beautiful Texas Hill Country together.
Throughout his life, Bobby was surrounded by and fascinated with cars. Helping his family out at Burris Motor Service, visiting his Dad working at Eddie Yaklin Nissan, and spending many weekends accompanying his dad showing his 1940 Ford Street Rod all around Central and South Texas. After his dad passed and leaving him his Street Rod, Bobby was able to continue on his legacy and love for cars in a few shows.
Bobby’s greatest accomplishment in life was his family. He was a loving and devoted husband, incredible father, and the best Poppy to his granddaughters which he adored more than anything. A true family man.
