Betty Jean Smith, a beacon of joy and laughter, passed away unexpectedly on July 29, 2024, at the age of 69. Known for her infectious laugh, enthusiasm and boundless love for life, Betty touched everyone she met with her warmth and genuine spirit.

Betty lived a life rich with happiness and cherished memories. Her boundless energy and zest for life were evident in everything she did, from her holiday feasts at Thanksgiving and Christmas (turkey with all the fixings, tamaladas and menudo) to her countless acts of kindness. Among those left to cherish her memory are her children, Marcus Ramirez (Wendy), Cynthia Cantu (Gabriel), Michelle Ybarra (Jovi) and Stephanie Vega (Israel); mother, Ninfa Q.
