Dr. Bennie Green, born January 13, 1939, in Lexington, Texas, to parents Ira and Josphine Green. Bennie passed at age 86, a beloved professor at Texas A&M University–Kingsville, who dedicated 52 years of service to educating and inspiring generations of students. Dr. Green was also a proud United States Air Force veteran serving his country with honor before embarking on his remarkable academic career.
Bennie was deeply committed to teaching and mentorship, leaving an indelible mark on the university community and the countless lives he touched. His passion for teaching and his unwavering dedication to excellence will be remembered for years to come.
Dr. Green was preceded in death by eleven (11) siblings and his wife of 38 years, Stella Louise Green.
Bennie was survived by his only surviving sibling Ozella Jackson; son: Bennie Joel Green; daughters: Penny Louise Elarms, Matasha Joelette Green, Natasha Pennette Green; and Dr. Satasha Green-Stephen; sons-in-law: Michael Henry Elarms and Jason Andrew Stephen; grandchildren: Brandon Everett Elarms, Brian Henry Elarms, and Bryce Michael Elarms; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews who will cherish his memory.
A private funeral service will take place for the family.
On Friday, January 2, 2026, at 1:00 pm, a live stream will be available on the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary website for those who would like to view the funeral service.
Dr. Bennie Green’s legacy is one of knowledge, kindness, and service. He will be remembered not only as an educator but as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, colleague, and friend. His life was a testament to perseverance, leadership, and unity.
