Arnold Villarreal, a remarkable soul who dedicated his life to serving his community, passed away on October 14, 2025, at the age of 67, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on January 27, 1958, in Kingsville, Texas, Arnold's presence was a beacon of kindness and unwavering wisdom that touched the hearts of everyone he encountered.
For 18 years, Arnold proudly served at the Kleberg County Sheriff’s Office, where he not only fulfilled his duties but also built lifelong friendships and made a lasting impact on the lives of his colleagues and the community. In his later years, his dedication continued as he worked for Kingsville ISD as a bus driver. With great pride, he cared for and connected with the students he transported each day, showcasing his deep compassion for others.
Arnold will be cherished and remembered as a devoted husband to Esther Villarreal for 46 beautiful years, whose love and loyalty to his family were unwavering. He was a loving father to Jason Villarreal, who carries forward Arnold's caring spirit into the next generation. As a grandfather, Arnold delighted in every moment spent with his grandchildren: Lorenzo, Zowe, Jacelyn, Mekayla, Jordan, and Rowan Villarreal. His heart swelled with pride as he cheered them on at their sporting events, always encouraging them to pursue their dreams.
Arnold's joyous nature was complemented by his passions: he found pleasure in life’s simple joys, whether it was riding his bike on quiet mornings, strumming his guitar, or enjoying a friendly game of pool or cards. His laughter, patience, and gentle presence filled every room he entered and created an environment that fostered connection and happiness. Arnold possessed a unique gift for sharing stories and offering a helping hand, ensuring that everyone felt valued and seen.
Arnold is survived by, his loving wife, Esther Villarreal; his son, Jason (Vanessa) Villarreal; his grandchildren: Lorenzo, Zowe, Jacelyn, Mekayla, Jordan, and Rowan Villarreal; Great grandchild, Lailani Davis; his mother-in-law, Ester Mendietta; stepfather, Alberto Castro, and sisters Dalia (Nick Rodriguez) Villarreal and Dora (Tony Rodriguez) Castro; his sister-in-law, Noelia (Rey Solis) Mendietta, alongside many friends and acquaintances, appreciated the joy and light he brought into their lives. Though he is deeply missed, the memories he created will forever be cherished by those who loved him most.
Arnold was preceded in death by his father, Abel Villarreal; mother, Dora Castro; sister, Diana Bazan; and grandsons Justin Reed Villarreal and Ethan Hayes Villarreal. Their spirits are intertwined with his, further embellishing his legacy as a devoted family man.
As we gather to honor Arnold’s life, we invite all to join us in remembrance. There will be a visitation on October 24, 2025, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Kingsville from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, followed by a Rosary at 10:00 AM and a Mass at 10:30 AM. The inurnment will take place at Chamberlain Cemetery at 11:45 AM.
Though he is no longer with us, his spirit lives on in the love he shared and the lives he touched, bringing comfort to all who were fortunate enough to love and be loved by him.
