Antonia Naranjo Silva, of Riviera, Texas, passed away on August 18, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on October 15, 1942, in Riviera, Texas., Antonia lived a life shaped by devotion to her home, her family, and the traditions she carried with pride. She was a devoted housewife with a strong sense of how things should be done.

Antonia was known for doing things her own way, with firm convictions and a presence that left a lasting impression on those around her.

She loved to cook and was especially known for her famous tortillas, her traditional holiday tamales, and her gardening. Music brought her joy, and dancing held a special place in her heart, especially when shared with her sweetheart, Chon.

Antonia and Chon first met at Harrel's, where she worked at the soda fountain. In November of 1966, their love story began, grounded in companionship and shared dreams. Together they built a life rich with laughter, music, and dance, and while Chon was still living, they enjoyed watching "Molly B" together. Their years side by side created cherished memories that remained a part of Antonia's life until his passing in 2025.

Antonia also showed her love through the familiar comforts she made with her own hands. She loved making nopalitos for her grandson, Michael, and caring for others in the ways that came most naturally to her. She was a stern and opinionated lady, but she loved her family in her own unique way. For those who knew her best, even her sharp edges were part of the affection she gave so unmistakably.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Encarnacion “Chonito” Silva, III; and her parents, Genoveva G. Naranjo and Ramon Naranjo.

Among those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Gilbert (Lucinda) Silva and Encarnacion Silva IV.; sister, Maria Del Carmen Garcia; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Alvaro) Serna, Matthew (Lauren) Silva, Michael Silva, Isaiah Silva, Melody Ann Silva, Mia Silva, Destiny R. Silva, Encarnacion R. "Cinco" Silva, V.; great-grandchildren, Uriah Serna, Olivia Ann Silva, and Aiden Beau Silva; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The family will receive condolences from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary; with a holy rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 28, 2026, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary. A rite of committal and interment will follow at Riviera Cemetery.

Antonia Naranjo Silva will be remembered for her strength, her traditions, her unmistakable spirit, and the love woven through the meals she prepared, the music she enjoyed, and the life she shared with those closest to her. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
