Amelia Henderson, a devoted teacher, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and dedicated wife, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2023, at the age of 97. Born on April 10, 1926, Amelia lived a life filled with purpose, compassion, and unwavering dedication to the pursuit of education.

Amelia's formidable journey began when she obtained her master's degree in education from Texas A&I, a testament to her relentless pursuit of knowledge and her passion for shaping young minds. For twenty-eight years, Amelia selflessly dedicated herself to teaching, instilling a love for learning in countless students at Kingsville ISD. Her unwavering commitment to her profession left an indelible impact on generations of learners, fostering a legacy that continues to thrive today.

Outside the classroom, Amelia's heart was filled with immense love and care for her family. As a mother, she bestowed endless affection, guidance, and support upon her children, serving as a nurturing presence through the ups and downs of life. Her grandchildren were the joyful recipients of Amelia's unwavering love and wisdom, making cherished memories together and being inspired by her unwavering strength.

Amelia's journey was intertwined with that of her beloved spouse, sharing a blissful union that spanned many decades. Through the highs and lows, they stood by each other's side, gracefully navigating the challenges of life's journey together. The love they shared was a testament to their unwavering commitment, devotion, and companionship.

Services to honor the memory of Amelia will begin Wednesday, December 20, 2023, with a visitation held at 5:00 PM at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary and a holy rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. The following day, Thursday, December 20, a mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 AM, at St. Martin Catholic church, with an interment to follow at Santa Gertrudis Cemetery. As friends and loved ones gather to mourn the loss of Amelia, we reflect upon her lifelong dedication and selflessness. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched.

Amelia Henderson's journey on this earthly plane has come to an end, but her spirit of compassion, perseverance, and lifelong learning will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to know her. May she find eternal peace and rest in the loving embrace of those who have journeyed before her.
