Alvino Losa Chacon Jr 80, of Riviera, TX passed away peacefully surrounded by family at home on September 20, 2025, after a long courageous fight with Dementia.
Alvino was born in Kingsville, Tx on January 16, 1945, to Guadalupe Losa Vela and Alvino Chacon Sr. Alvino was raised by his Uncle Refugio Vela.
Alvino was a retired rancher. Alvino was a man of many traits, knowledge, and wisdom. He had love for carpentry and making his loving wife many things. He loved the great outdoors and sitting outside with his black coffee in hand. He enjoyed spending time with his family and bringing laughter and joy. He always lit up a room with his presence. He spoke to everyone he met for the first time as if he had known them all their lives. He loved to joke around and make people laugh. Alvino loved that he was able to see all his grandchildren grow and have children of their own. He loved it when his great grandchildren came over to visit him.
Alvino was married to his beautiful wife for 55 years. He was a devoted and loving husband. Through all of his health issues till the end, he never stopped showing love to his beautiful wife. When he no longer to was able to speak, he winked at her showing his love.
Alvino was preceded in death by his grandsons, Angel Reyes and Baby Henry; granddaughter, Jazmine Chacon; parents; and uncle, Refugio Vela.
Alvino is survived by his loving wife, Lupita Chacon; son, Noel Chacon (Annabel); daughters, Noemi Chacon (Roy), Nelly Chacon Henry (Dustin), Noelia Chacon-Saenz (Noe), and Rita Rodriguez (John); 14 Grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Our DAD was man of true faith. Despite all he went through till his last breath he was grateful to EVERYONE and always said "THANK YOU".
The family will receive condolences from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday, September 26, 2025, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary; with a holy rosary to be recited at 10:00 a.m. A mass of christian burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church in Riviera, TX. A rite of committal and interment will follow at Vattman Cemetery.
Our family would like to thank all the Hospital staff in the ER and on the 2nd floor, Kingsville Nursing Home, Hospice Nurses, who were so loving and gentle with our dad. Hospice RN Nedith who was there with our family in the end and gave us comfort and guidance. We also want to give a heartfelt thank you to Norma and Selina. These two were providers who went above and beyond even after no longer being assigned to our dad. We will forever and truly be grateful to you both for all you did and continued to do for our parents.
