Alicia Sanchez

Alicia H. Sanchez, 79, passed away on February 10, 2021 in Kingsville, Texas. She was born January 14, 1942 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Lucio J. and Maria C. Hernandez. Alicia was a faithful member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church and the Colombian Lady Council #2623. She was an active worker at the KC Bingo Hall #2623, and Environmental Services at Baptist Hospital and Spohn Hospital Shoreline. She had many hobbies that included watching novelas, and crocheting, she often gifted baby blankets to family and friends. She was also bad at telling jokes because she could never get out the punchline before cracking up. Alicia will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sister and brother-in-law, Maria G. and Amador Hinojosa; and brother, Raul L. Hernandez.

Alicia is survived by her husband of 47 years, Valdemar Sanchez; brother, Oscar (Jackie) R. Hernandez; son, Efrain (Veronica) V. Sanchez; daughters, Velma I. Farias and Christina (Leopoldo) J. Reina Jr.; and 11 grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, February 15, 2021 at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at St. Martin’s Catholic Church. Interment will be held at 10:00 a.m. at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
