Abel Garcia, 85, of Bishop, Tx, passed away on May 16, 2026. He was born on June 30, 1940, to Estaban and Ignacia Garcia.

He was a very warm hearted, kind man. He never met a stranger because he would become a friend for life with anyone he interacted with. He made anyone in need feel welcomed and become a part of the family. His quick wit made everyone feel comfortable and very likeable.

Abel was steadfast and devoted fan for the Chicago Bears and Cubs. He was a football and baseball fanatic. Some other joys in this life were music. A vocalist in several "conjuntos" and while living in Chicago became a singer for "Los Fantasticos Chicanos de Chicago." Even made records that will be cherished memories for the family. He also was a mariachi singer with "Mariachi Del Sol."

Preceded in death with his parents; daughters, Claudia Garcia and Corinna G. Rivera; his two infant grandsons, Noah and Kylan Rivera; one sister, Lupe Sosa, Sugarland, Texas; three brothers, Alberto Garcia of Chicago, ILL, Steve and Antero Garcia of Kingsville, TX.

Surviving him and cherishing his memories are his wife of 63 years, Maria (Tina) Espinosa Garcia of Bishop, TX; sons, Abel Garcia Jr. of Bishop, TX, and Marcos Garcia of San Antonio, TX; grandsons, Abel Gracia lll of Davenport, FL, and Aaron Jorndan Garcia of Bishop, TX; granddaughters, Ciara Jean Garcia of Corpus Christi, TX, and Marinna Janell Rivera of Bishop, TX; brother, Arturo Garcia of Corpus Christi, TX; sisters, Sylvia Robinson of Chicago, ILL, and Berta Rice of Chicago, ILL.

A celebration of life ceremony will take place at 2pm on June 28, 2026, that will be held at Simple Truth Fellowship Church, 405 No. Ave. F, Bishop, TX. Officiating services is Pastor David Garcia.
