Charles W. "Chuck" Shipley

April 16, 1941 ~ July 4, 2019 (age 78)

Charles W. “Chuck” Shipley, age 78, passed away July 4, 2019 in Kingsville, Texas. He was born on April 16, 1941 in Bartholomew County, Indiana to Walter and Helen Shipley.

Chuck Shipley was a United States Veteran. He returned to Indiana, Indianapolis where he worked as a fireman for 20 years. He joined the Masonic order in Indianapolis. Upon his retirement, Chuck moved to Texas and met and married his wife Ann. While in Texas, Chuck transferred his Masonic order membership to Kingsville Chamberlain Lodge. He was also active in Corpus Christi #91 Chapter of Royal & Select Masters, Corpus Christi Commandry #57 Knights Templar, Member of South Tx Conclave of Red Cross of Constantine, member of South Texas York Rite College #159 of Corpus Christi, Tx., member of Valley of San Antonio Scottish Rite, member of Al Amin Shrine, and an active Shrine clown. One of Chuck’s passions in life was driving children to the Shrine Hospital in Houston.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and son, Matthew Shipley..

Chuck is survived by his loving wife- Ann Shipley; daughter, Nanette Huber (Brian); step-children, Scott Reeves (Lori), Dawn Reeves-Garcia (Henry), and the late Shea Martinez (Albert); brother, Ancil (Sue) Shipley; sister, Jean (Joe) Brandt; loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 12, 2019 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary. A funeral service will be held that same morning at 9:00 a.m. at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Burial to follow at Coastal Bend State Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider sending a donation to Shriner Children’s Hospital.
