Mrs. Tomasa Garcia, age 88, a resident of Bishop, Texas passed away Friday, August 18, 2017 at her residence. She was born May 24, 1929 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Jacinto Zepeda and Ester Sanchez Zepeda. Mrs. Garcia, a homemaker, was a member of St. James Catholic Church, Bishop.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years of marriage, Fortino Garcia of Bishop; five daughters, Juanita “Janie” Moreno (Nicolas) of Kingsville, Texas, Gloria Perez (late Narciso) of Victoria, Texas, Sylvia Garcia (late Xavier) of Bishop, Sara Guerra (Benny) and Tomasita “Tommie” Trevino (Rudy), both of Kingsville; two sons, Jacinto “Jas” Garcia (Consuelo) of Concepcion, Texas and Fortino “Tino” Garcia Jr. (Eva) of Corpus Christi, Texas; two sisters, Hermelinda Rivas of Kingsville and Angelita Gomez (Raul) of Harlingen, Texas; 16 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday, August 21, 2017 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Monday, August 21, 2017 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at St. Gertrude’s Catholic Church, Kingsville, with Fr. Joseph Lopez as celebrant. Burial will follow in Driscoll, Texas at Cemeterio de la Luz.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
